When using library research tools to find internships you can get a wide variety of results, but you also get a lot to choose from. I was able to find more good options when using all the different library research tools than I was when I used the Handshake platform from my previous blog post. The con: This was a much more extensive process. The results you get when using library research is generated based on what you search for, but is still much less filtered than that of the results from Handshake. I had to spend some time sifting through looking at what fit me and what didn't, while Handshake ordered my options for me from best possible fit to worst which was helpful. When using handshake I couldn't find many options in a location that was possible for me though, while the library research tools contained much more information on options in Texas which was helpful. Overall both are great options and have their pros and cons and when I do eventually decide to take on finding an internship or new career I will be sure to refer back to all of the library research tools I learned. Below are pictures and links of some of the great internships I found while using library research tools, most of which are posted on LinkedIn. I also included a screenshot from a possible career opportunity that I found on ONET for after I graduate with my bachelors while I am completing my graduate degree. I am most interested in the microbiology and genetic internship opportunities that I found currently.
