The internship that I would like to work towards is working as a microbiology analyst intern for a summer to help me gain laboratory experience before applying to graduate school. Some of the skills that are required for this internship are having good collaboration, creativity, leadership, communication, and lab skills. Out of these, two of them were "lesser strengths" or weaknesses of mine according to the character strengths survey that I took. (Further information on this survey can be found in blog post titled "My character strengths and weaknesses") The skills that I need to improve on to be successful with this internship are creativeness and leadership skills. I know that these are not strengths of mine and that I need to work on them to help my self succeed in the lab research that this internship requires. Research is a very creative process so I know I need to improve on my out of the box thinking and taking charge of my ideas. Below I have attached images of the skills needed for my internship of interest and of my character strengths survey results, showing numbers 13 and 20 which are the skills that pertain to this internship that I plan to improve.
